About Us
Our dream is that somewhere not just up above the clouds, but here, now, where rainbow colors of birds call to us we experience a human culture that values the remarkable inherent worth and dignity of birds and the powerfully beautiful relationship between birds and people so that people as well as birds may flourish.
Wings of Compassion is all about celebrating your feathered companion from the day your buddy was hatched; through the joys and learnings of their lives; through their passing away and honoring the grief we all feel when our buddy leaves this world.
This web site was inspired by Beau Davis-Lafeber, the worlds most wonderful Greenwing Macaw (all Greenwings know they are the most wonderful). Beau passed away on December 24, 2006. Beau was Dr. Lafeber's constant home and office companion. As Dr. Lafeber tried to create a wonderful way to honor Beau, he found that many other animal lovers were also looking for better ways to honor their departed friends. Wings Of Compassion was initially created as Dr. Lafeber's way of honoring Beau and grew to include the chance for everyone to grieve, and hence to celebrate th e beauty of birds in their lives.
Dr. Lafeber and Christine Davis honor all animals so this web site is open to all animals and their companions that love them. We hold a special place in our hearts for birds, which Wings of Compassion reflects.
