Remembering Rocky
What can I say about Rocky? He was an awesome little dog. I called him a "Chug" at half chihuahua and half pug. He loved everyone, was very obedient, and just a great, great companion all the way around. He was very vocal and would "talk" to me all through the day.
I got rocky when he was 7 years old, and thought I'd have at least that much more time with him. However, only 3 years later, we discovered a cancerous growth on his tail, which the vet removed. Well, the anesthesia from the surgery brought on a heart murmur. The heart murmur, even with medication, quickly progressed to Congestive Heart Failure, and 4 short months later, I had to have him put down. Despite medications, he could hardly breathe and was drowning in his own fluids. I thank God every day that I have a very compassionate veterinarian. He handled it professionally, but also on a personal level, offering me great comfort in my time of sorrow.
He was one of the best natured dogs I'd ever known, and I still miss him more than a year later. I have a picture of him with his last collar and tags hanging over the corner, and a clay footprint my vet's office made for me. I will never forget him.
Rocky, everybody loved you and missed you baby. I'm glad you're at peace and can breathe easily again and run and play. I'll see you someday.
Love, Mom
